There is no need to stress about finding the perfect bridesmaid dresses for your wedding. Here are some helpful tips to help you find dresses that all of your bridesmaids will be excited about.
1. Be aware of your bridesmaids
Although on the wedding day, it is all about the Bride, you want your friends to look good as Bridesmaids. Pick a style that looks flattering and great.
2. Mix it up
Not every style looks good on every body type. Consider the various options and pick a color and/or color scheme (here are some ideas to get you going) and give your 'maids the freedom to pick different styles that fit within that color.
3. Consider the present and the future
It's important that you are considerate of your friends' budgets. So many times Brides pick dresses that can be strictly worn as Bridesmaid dresses. Consider the future and select something that your girls will be able to wear again.
4. Plan ahead
Go into the search with all of the information ready. Make a list of how many Bridesmaids you have, what colors will look nice on them, and what kind of dresses are within their budget.
5. Get their opinions
Many of the times, your Bridesmaids will be flattered that you asked them to get involved and be apart of this role. Take this opportunity to get their opinions on styles, colors, and fabrics. If they have a say, it's more likely they will be happy with the outcome.
6. Know availability
Not every dress fits the same. You want to make sure you are picking a style that offers a variety of sizes and fits nicely. There needs to be a size for everyone, so go back to step 4 and check what sizes you need and confirm that they are available.
7. Dark colors are flattering
This is not to say that lighter or brighter colors don't look great on people, but dark colors tend to be more flattering. They can camouflage curves and give the illusion of looking skinnier. There are plenty of navy, black, and plum bridesmaid dresses on our site.
8. Get help
Don't worry about being in control all of the time. You (as the Bride) has their hands full with planning the wedding, flowers, decorations, place cards, etc. Let the Maid-of-Honor handle the Bridesmaid dresses, so you have one less thing to worry about.
9. Think of the bigger picture
To make a wedding look beautiful, it's crucial that the different elements help to complement each other, rather than compete. Think about your wedding dress and try to envision what would look great next to it. You don't want it too similar, but you do want it to coordinate.
10. Remember the undergarments
Some dresses require different undergarments. Remind your Bridesmaids to make sure that they have the right undergarments required to fit with the chosen dress. We don't want any day-of mishaps.
