Wedding Wednesday: American Gangster-Inspired Wedding

We’re traveling back in time this Wednesday to Jim and Claire’s 1950s American Gangster-inspired wedding.

The dress length of the day was short. Claire wore an adorable strapless, teacup wedding dress, and her six woman bridal party wore matching bridesmaids dresses. The bridesmaid dresses were black with white polka dots, matching Claire's with an identical cut and length.

The groomsmen were perfectly styled in black suits with red ties, corsages, and socks (the perfect accents to the bridesmaids’ red belts) and of course, the iconic American Gangster hat.

Although not very religious, the couple opted to wed at a nearby church that was an important location for them. The gorgeous cathedral look was the perfect setting for Jim and Claire to exchange their vows.

After the ceremony guests headed to the reception which was decorated with red twinkling lights, candles, and of course, red carnations.

In lieu of a guest book, Jim and Claire offered a Wish Tree for guests to decorate with their hopes and dreams for the couple.

The black and white polka dot theme even extended to the dessert table. Guests with a sweet tooth ate white and black polka dot cake and cupcakes frosted with red icing. Family and friends laughed and danced the night away, making it a classic wedding no one will ever forget.

Congratulations to Jim and Claire!
